Protection of Personal Information

In order to use this site the User is asked to first provide to Generali Insurance Ltd. – the Portuguese subsidiary of Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A., headquartered in Trieste, Italy, or, as the case may be, to some companies of the Generali Group, certain details of a personal nature which shall henceforth be called “Personal Information”.

The User authorises Generali Insurance Ltd., the Portuguese subsidiary of Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A., headquartered in Trieste, Italy, to include, in the Personal Information file that it opens and for which it is responsible, details of a personal nature obtained within the scope of the present service, as well as any other details that it might collect in the future, to be processed automatically or otherwise, in order to utilise this information for any and all activities that derive directly or indirectly from the relationship established between the User and Generali Insurance Ltd., the Portuguese subsidiary of Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A., headquartered in Trieste, Italy. The User likewise consents to and authorises Generali Insurance Ltd., the Portuguese subsidiary of Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A., headquartered in Trieste, Italy, to keep his or her information even when their contractual relationship has come to an end, in order to fulfil legal obligations and to send publicity materials and promotional offers.

The User further authorises Generali Insurance Ltd., the Portuguese subsidiary of Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A., headquartered in Trieste, Italy, to give or communicate the aforementioned information to service providers, companies of the Generali Group and third parties with whom Generali Insurance Ltd., the Portuguese subsidiary of Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A., headquartered in Trieste, Italy, has entered into, or might in the future enter into, partnership agreements.

The User is hereby informed that this consent can be revoked and also that, with regard to the data that has been collected, in accordance with Law 67/98, dated 26 October (“Law for the Protection of Personal Information”) they have the right to refuse to allow this information to be processed, communicated or accessed, and can correct or eliminate these details, which can be done under the provisions of applicable legislation at any of the addresses indicated above as well as at the company headquarters of the department responsible for processing this information, situated at Rua Duque de Palmela 11, in Lisbon, or via e-mail sent to webmaster@generali.pt. The right to revoke this consent can be exercised in a partial manner, the User can even refuse to allow his or her personal information to be used for certain purposes. Furthermore, the User is hereby informed that his or her personal information will be processed by Generali Insurance Ltd., the Portuguese subsidiary of Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A., headquartered in Trieste, Italy, in a confidential manner and always within the provisions of the legislation for the protection of personal information that are in effect at any given moment.

The User expressly consents to and authorises Generali Insurance Ltd., the Portuguese subsidiary of Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A., headquartered in Trieste, Italy, to transfer his or her personal information, under the terms and conditions outlined above, to recipients located in any country in the world, even if these countries might not offer a level of protection considered to be adequate under the terms of the Law for the Protection of Personal Information.

Generali Insurance Ltd., the Portuguese subsidiary of Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A., headquartered in Trieste, Italy, hereby informs the User that it has adopted adequate security measures to protect Personal Information in terms of processing centres, sites, equipment, systems, programmes and personnel that intervene in its processing and that it has installed all the technical means and measures within its capabilities to avoid the loss, misuse, alteration, unauthorised access and theft of Personal Information provided to Generali Insurance Ltd., the Portuguese subsidiary of Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A., headquartered in Trieste, Italy, by the User.

Nevertheless, the User must be aware that the transmission of data via the Internet only has a relative level of technical reliability, since it involves heterogeneous networks with diverse technical characteristics and capabilities and that therefore their personal information might circulate within this network without the required security and that there exists a risk that this information might be accessed by unauthorised third parties.
